Two equal A. Hulanicki Prizes for 2025 were awarded to Dr. Piotr Dyszewski and Dr. DSc. Michał Marcinkowski.
The jury recognized Piotr in particular for:
having an impressive scientific achievement, authoring nearly 20 publications in renowned international journals, and managing the Sonata grant;
being or having served as an assistant or actual supervisor for two doctoral students, and his master's students having won numerous awards;
his lectures (including the monographic lectures he offers) are highly valued by students; in particular, in 2023, he won the Lecturer's Cup (an award given to Wrocław academic teachers by the students themselves);
delivering highly acclaimed popular science lectures at the Congress of Young Mathematicians, MISI, and the Workshops of Young Explorers;
co-organizing six international conferences.
Michał's achievements include:
he has authored numerous publications in renowned international journals, served as principal investigator for the Sonatina grant and as an investigator for two other grants, and has completed numerous research internships;
he was one of the creators of the program and currently serves as supervisor of the new Artificial Intelligence in Data Analysis program;
he was the main organizer of three editions (all to date) of the Artificial Intelligence Olympiad;
he served on the board of the Wrocław Mathematicians Foundation and is currently the president of the Foundation for Education and Development of Artificial Intelligence;
he has served as an expert for the Science Evaluation Committee;
he has organized numerous scientific conferences, mathematics schools for students, and popular science events.
